Rutland Youth Soccer Association (RYSA) is seeking a passionate and experienced Coach Development Lead to support our club’s mission of delivering high-quality, competitive youth soccer in Kelowna, BC. As a proud member of the Central Okanagan Youth Soccer Association, we are a not-for-profit organization focused on providing true grassroots soccer experiences for young athletes.
This is a paid position (rate negotiable based on experience) with an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the development of both our players and the volunteer coaches who support them.
As our Coach Development Lead, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of soccer in our community. You’ll be responsible for supporting, mentoring, and guiding our volunteer coaches to uphold club values and promote a positive, development-first culture across all age groups.
Collaborate with the Board to implement and refine club coaching standards and philosophies
Provide hands-on support to volunteer coaches during practices and games
Lead coach development sessions, clinics, and one-on-one mentorship opportunities
Observe and assess coaching sessions to provide constructive feedback and ensure alignment with club methodology
Foster an inclusive and supportive environment where both players and coaches can thrive
Promote fair play, sportsmanship, and community leadership
Act as a positive ambassador and steward of RYSA values on and off the field
Coaching experience minimum completion of Grassroots or C License Certified
A deep understanding of long-term player development (LTPD) principles
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentorship skills
NCCP certifications or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
Experience working with volunteer-run organizations is a major asset
Flexibility to attend evening/weekend practices and games
Passion for community-driven sport and youth development
